🛠️ How to Contribute to the Wiki
Welcome, future contributor! This guide will help you start editing and improving the TransIRC Community Wiki.
This wiki is powered by the community — your voice and knowledge matter. Whether you want to fix a typo, write a guide, or share a useful resource, you're in the right place.
🔐 Step 1: Get Authenticated
To keep the wiki safe and trusted, only users authenticated via NickServ on our IRC network can edit or create pages.
There are three ways to authenticate:
- Option A: Connect to our IRC server using any IRC client and register with NickServ: `/msg NickServ REGISTER <password>`
- Option B: Use our Web IRC client at web.transirc.chat, then register with NickServ from there.
- Option C: Use our web-based IRC/NickServ registration form: transirc.chat/webregister.html
Once you've registered and verified your account, you'll be able to log in to the wiki using your IRC identity.
⏳ Step 2: Wait 48 Hours
To help prevent abuse, editing access is granted 48 hours after registration. This waiting period helps us keep the space respectful and safe.
✏️ Step 3: Log In and Start Editing
Once your account is eligible:
- Log in to the wiki using your IRC credentials
- Use the pencil icon or the Edit this page button to make changes
📚 What to Contribute
You're welcome to contribute:
- Personal experiences or tips relevant to trans and questioning folks
- Guides on HRT, voice training, safety, or any other relevant topic
- Improvements to existing articles — spelling, grammar, clarity, or structure
- New resource lists or links that helped you
Be kind, be factual, and always write with empathy.
